The Mayan Space Jockey creates his rocket

a) Mayan Space Jockey. The idea is merging the World Tree image from the Dresden Mayan Codex with the question of where would the Mayan Space Jockey's space ship come from that would be imagined from seeing the Pakal Votan tomb lid.
b) So Ron Cobb did a chest burster scene in a painting for Alien, that seemed to be based on the Dresden Mayan Codex image where it looked as if the World tree was a tentacled monster erupting from the victim's body as a chestburster victim in a ritual. Since the Pakal Votan tomb lid is another one of these odd images with a world tree.
c) I thought that after he has drunk something from his little bottle, perhaps the space rocket erupts from the chest of the victim  the space jockey as some sort of a life form that takes its victim off into the depths of space or the sky as its pilot.

Rough Mayan Rocketeer sketches

Leading from

a) My idea for a Mayan Rocketeer keeps changing every time I attempt to draw one, loosely inspired by Pakal Votan Tomb lid, inspired by the idea of the Mayan Space Jockey tablet featured briefly in the movie Prometheus.

b)  I admit that when I draw these things, I am not always sure what the point of it all is other than continue to explore different possibilities all the time and I often don't see the point in finishing them and I am quick to assume that there is another way to do it and what I have done is all wrong, but I like the idea of a narrative being formed however loose it might be.

at the touch of a button into a space rocket.
Perhaps the idea of a coffin bank is relevant for the above sketch

PROmethearZAC story part III

leading from

a) Aerial battle
I keep thinking of a serpent rocket,  that twists around like a coiling twisting dragon that breathes laser fire, and half way along its body is the place where the pilot is inside, some strange hideous thing seemingly stretched and merged into the interior mechanisms of the body of the ship, holding the chopper motorbike handles the pilot the vessel. Perhaps it is not easy to actually see where the entity begins and the machinery around it ends. In this case, he must be the villain chasing the Mayan rocketeer that seems to also be a sort of dragon, through a vast complex beyond the vast toothy entrance that chews everything up. As they twist and turn through the air in an aerial battle, the villain is trying to do his best to wrap his snake ship around the Mayan rocketeer's vessel and crush, but the Mayan rocketeer is always clever enough to slip through.

I very much like this giant black serpent featured in Gustave Moreau's Phaeton
The black serpent reversed and turned on its side

Detail from Biomechanic Landscape III
that I like to use as pilot for the snake rocket,
with its translucent head in the left top corner
and air hose connected to a machine.
So he will be sitting inside's the serpent's belly.

b) Idea behind a serpent rocket
The idea of a coiling serpent rocket came to me when i read a book about film director Jan Kounen's shamanistic experiences with Ayahuasca and one could be swallowed up by a giant snake but that snake would serve as a vehicle to take the person somewhere else and so I wanted to biomechanise it. I see the Mayan Rocketeer on the Pakal Votan tomb lid as a depiction of a shamanistic experience. I will provide a visual for the serpent rocket later with a pilot based on a detail from Giger's Biomechanic Landscape III as seen below.

c) Biomechanoid landscape
There is the other place, the shattered remains of a world which has been ruined, taken over by the biological weaponry and there, a civilisation can be found scattered in a state of living death buried within the landscape transformed by the biomechanised organism. Perhaps we might be thinking about the Vipers Nest scene from Alien Resurrection and how it was inspired by part of Giger's Passage Temple Entrance. And in this landscape, the aliens are as it were swimming through it , as one with its physical material.  There are the abandoned and crumbling buildings slowly being eaten away. The Mayan rocketeer travels across the surface, seeing impressions of faces and eyes staring back up at him, wondering if they were real or generated by the mind. He wants to find his fellows who have been sleeping for thousands of years but finds that the places where they are buried are heavily guarded or encrusted by the strange creatures ruled by something intelligent that must surely with an iron like grip be holding them as hostages. (By the time of writing this, Ridley Scott has mentioned that the home of the Engineers to be encountered in the Prometheus sequel, Alien: Paradise Lost is a planet where a disaster has taken place)

Further Thoughts for Alien V/H/S or Umhlanga Alien

leading from

a) Monday 21st September 2015,  furthuring my thoughts from watching Reveries while watching V/H/S/2  and Dreaming about Alien meets Ringu = Aliengu. I decided that Neil Blomkamp's Alien V movie should be called Alien V/H/S because of the videofeed story he talked about and the fact that Sigourney kept yapping about how Blomkamp wore his Alien VHS videotapes, and this all seemed like some sort of a Japanese ghost story. (See: Alien 5 Blomkamps Initiation)

b) Neil Blomkamp infected by the alien
I started mentally fusing this with Neil Blomkamp's story about being at his family's holiday apartment in Umhlanga, a residential, commercial and resort town north of Durban on the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where he had found himself watching Alien from the videofeed on the television. And so the idea came of Neil Blomkamp as a child sits there being infected by the alien, and as soon as his parents pull him away, he starts screaming and out of his chest erupts a chestburster slithering into the depths of the apartment block where it grows and binds with other creatures of its kind.  Perhaps in this case, instead of a South African holiday spot,  it's a space station or colony on a planet somewhere in the depths of space.

c) Videocassette bugs
There would be the videocassette player machine in the basement, and these oversized cockroach like creatures with video cassettes in their bodies have been growing and evolving so that one of them would insert a videotape into the slot in the player and this videocassette would contain a signal that would play through the video feed in the block of apartments and anyone who is watching would find their television screen peeling open like the top of a four petaled alien egg and out a facehugger would burst out of the screen as perhaps an hallucination in the manner of the movie Videodrome, and it would plant its seed into the person sitting in front of the TV screen and this would be very much like the Koji Suzuki novel Spiral where Sadako's DNA in combination with the smallpox virus would combine and try to transmit their DNA into someone else in a transmission that gets recorded on videocassette played on the TV, and sometimes women become impregnated and give birth to a genetic copy of Sadako.

Where did the creatures come from, had they somehow infected the woman operating the videocassette player. They find that the creatures had come in through a hole in the floor, they find a chamber beneath full of large urn shaped vessels all with these large insect like creatures each with a videocassette their body, each must have evolved to create a biological videocassette to insert into a video cassette player, each with rows of sharp teeth inside their spools.

d) Neil Blomkamp infected by the alien
There are other victims in the building by the same method. A creature that is a mass of these alien creatures is slithering around the building, through the vent shafts, it looked like an accumulation of tortured souls, all eyeless, all tied together in the form of a living breathing knot. The glass of the TV screens around the building are found to have been melted and ripped open in the alien egg opening four petaled formation.

I'm imagining clusters of humanoid monsters in the manner
of Beksinski to get away from the idea that it must be Giger's Alien
and that it could never be, and this serves as an abstract reference.

e) Dead body in the old haunted house
People come to inspect the building to find out what has caused this. They enter the building's basement, they find the woman who operated the videofeed, and she looks as if she is growing from the chair, or perhaps she looks as if she is growing from the wall, maybe she looks as if she is growing from the desk, or the TV set or even the videocassette player. In her hand, she seems to have a videocassette that she was about to push into the videocassette player, perhaps she looks as if she was growing from the videocassette as well or vice versa. Something had changed her DNA, perhaps wanting her to put the videocassette in and she was their failed experiment, or perhaps the videocassette she was about to put into the machine would have been something that would have stopped the other creatures from inserting one of their own. They would not have an answer without pouring endless amounts of dollars into a close investigation.

f) Chief inspector De Boos, Goosen or Grobbelbar investigates
The chief inspector with a thick moustache and a surname such as De Boos, Goosen or Grobbelbar looked at the chamber where they were found in relation to the rest of the building and noticed that it couldn't be there, and was belligerent towards anyone who claimed the chamber was there. He decided that the woman sitting at the video recorder must have been killed by wasps and turned into a wasp nest. That was good enough for the report. Dozens of people had either been found dead or had disappeared, some have been found melting into the furniture where they can't quite find out where the furniture begins and the human flesh and bone else and he decided that some serial killer was either ripping them open killing them, using a variety of bone cutting weapons or a mad animal or something that was a cross between the both, and the rest he can't explain, some form of odd experimentation. Everyone involved in the investigation is interrogated to see what they know and then they are told to shut up or else.

g) The inspector walks into a room wondering what to do and keep everything under his control when all of the sudden wallpaper starts to bulge and out of this wallpaper cyst erupts with the strange semi humanoid figure of an alien creature in a bed of flesh and snatches him, absorbing its body into its own alien mass. The ripped hole in the wall seemed to turn into a blood encrusted biological scar.

h) Through the holes in the walls are chamber that shouldn't be there, as if new spaces have been torn out of the fabric of time and space, and they find it carpeted with this unimaginable flesh that spanned off into unimaginable new dimensions, perhaps all simply compact spaces behind the walls reworked in a strangely alien way.

i) It seems as if these alien creatures around the building would soon die and begin to dissolve, burning holes in the walls, floors and ceilings, but with the interest in evolving to a new level. They want to transmit their life form to somewhere outside of the building complex, through television sets elsewhere and somewhere a new life form was waiting to do that, perhaps turning into a rip-off of the Japanese horror movie "One Missed Call" with perhaps people received ghostly phone calls and here the sound of the space jockey's transmission from Alien before they become cursed and some strange biomechanoids start to grow. Perhaps a small little creature with an audio cassette growing inside is found in someone's car and which still has a slot for an audio cassette and this thing plants it into the slot and it starts to play some dreadfully strange sound.

j) Source of the mystery
In V/H/S 2, there was a story about a suicide cult whose mass suicide and use of one woman's body leads to the birth of a devil of some kind that wasn't very good. But on the 23rd of September, 2015, the thought of it takes me back to Poltergeist 2 where there was a religious cult who are led to their own suicide by a demon inspired by a design from Giger, and in Alien, the remains of other lifeforms are devoured by the egg creating organism and the eggs grow, suggesting almost a kind of metamorphosis form the victim to the sport and perhaps I am imagining that these videocassette bugs in their urns or whatever are the transformed remains of a suicide cult that must have lived in the building some decades before hand, and somehow the remains of this strange entity are coming out of the foundations of the building, and because of the presence of an old videocassette machine have been evolving to be able to have one of the bugs out of thousands of others grow a videocassette to fit into the machine and transmit its signal in the videofeed through the building. Although by the twenty first century, the whole building is like to have satellite TV through the whole building. So many the remains of the old videofeed is somehow reactivated by an unknown presence. With that perhaps it is a biomechanoid ghost of video nasties erupts from the television set with chainsaws, drills and so on growing from its body to kill everything before suddenly evaporating.  I seem to remember though from the Come to Daddy video by Chris Cunningham a strange demon inside a television set suddenly comes through the screen as if being born. Perhaps a chapel is to be found beneath the apartments with lit stained glass window featuring various stages of the alien life cycle and various deaths caused by the creature, and is seen in the reflection of a swirling pool of water. The strange otherworldly intelligence that transformed this cult has been somewhere from the depths of time and space been opening up a small wormhole into this dimension carrying out genetic manipulation on the followers in various ways.

Alien Monster IV with drill bit tongue
k) Videonasty Aliens
Somehow there are videonasty inspired aliens on the rampage. However the idea of the video nasty aliens results a Texas Chainsaw Alien, a driller killer alien, a nail gun alien. The Texas Chainsaw Alien has a chainsaw tail , a chainsaw running along the length of the head, and perhaps this is a Predalien, but with a lower mandibles resembling the runners or blades of a sled, it might be known as "sledge face" for short, and he might have mandibles sticking out of the side in place of the dreadlock like tendrils. The driller killer alien would have a drill bit for a tongue perhaps much like Giger's Alien Monster V's tongue.  I thought about an alien with a human skull shuttling back and forth along a track within the cranium. These entities are guided by an all seeing eye that peers through a vortex and these entities can combine together to create an alternate strange biomechanoid form.  The nail gun alien might well fire a life form into its victim that's grows and slowly eats its victim. There would be a buzz saw mouthed alien inspired by the Helicoprion shark

l) Another Bishop android, Bishop III or IV or some number that I can't imagine
There is another Bishop the android or some similar android. As with the original Lance Henriksen's Bishop android. The character exists like a black man or child in South Africa, that if he made a mistake, anything could happen and he would be out, either replaced or destroyed. Just as Lance Henriksen imagined for his background  for Bishop back in the time of Aliens

Reveries while watching V/H/S/2

leading from

a) Cockroach videocassette sleeves
I watched V/H/S/2 on TV and found it partially interesting while I could stay away watching it late in the evening.   In the opening scene, some people enter a house where there are various video casettes around, and I began to think of the transparent cassette sleeves lying around as shed skin, and then I began to imagine that these people have entered an alien environment where there are creatures about a foot in length that are like oversized transparent cockroaches or beetle crawling around, and their innards resembled VHS video cassettes, the man slides one of the cassettes out of the creature leaving the skin with its legs inactive, and the inside of spools which are a couple of inches wide are sharp teeth that would close in on someone's fingers very easily and bite them off or begin to suck blood out of the personThese things would replace the facehugger, and would suck its victims into an alternate reality by the looks of it, perhaps loosely they were inspired by things from Cronenberg's films eXistenZ and Videodrome.

b) Uterine environment
The first story seen on a video casette in the film was about a man who had a prosthetic eye implanted and he could see the dead with this and a woman comes by who can hear the dead and most of this story takes place in the man's house. As the story becomes more disjointed, and so did the photography to the point where it seemed as if the viewer was trapped in tiny rooms with tiny doorways and it was impossible to work out what exactly was up or down. The woman gets dragged into a swimming pool to drown and at points it seemed as if the pool was upside down and perhaps one might have wanted to think about the star gate in the movie Stargate that was a pool of water on its side. While I was watching it, I began to think about a man wakes up in a strange environment where there appears to be no up or down, as if it were a zero gravity space station interior of non human design. A woman that is with him, he finds lying on a leather sofa on the ceiling and she begins to get sucked into the space between the back of the sofa and the cushions, as if it were a birth passage between thick fleshy lips. He himself is passes from one chamber to another trying to find her. The entrances from chamber to another seem impossibly small and he can see the woman behind through them and hesitates as he realises that he can get through them.Activating the cassette created holographic images in the form of demons that come to life and grab the person who has activated and thrust something down his throat.

c) The rest of the movie
The rest of the movie didn't grab my attention particularly to the point where I fell asleep during the story about the suicidal cult.

Reveries inspired by Blomkamp's Alien 5 project
but nothing to do with it

leading from

Blomkamp's photo

a) Pustules filled with Aliens
Ever since Neill Blomkamp posted the photo of a room with a television screen, a model of the power loader and various photos from Alien and images of pieces of artwork by Giger on the wall, I thought about biomechanoids swarming in clusters so that one sees all connected together in a single environment and one can not where one alien begins and another finishes and thought how perhaps this could be accomplished with special effects, and then, I imagines one of Giger's landscapes of flesh and pustules and how one of the pustules ripped open and there inside were the alien creatures compressed together, and the Colonial Marines armed with guns and perhaps exoskeleton suits are looking in to the masses of aliens that perhaps lie there dormant ready to slowly wake up as in James Cameron's Aliens movie. Perhaps I am thinking about the original cocoon concept about how if a piece of the growth was broken off, lots of maggots would pour out of the segment.

A Giger flesh landscape
b) Further exoskeleton thoughts
Perhaps the exoskeleton suits would be something like the ones from Halo since Blomkamp had been working on a movie adaption of that and it looked as if there was one made in Korea in a recent piece of artwork he put on the internet or indeed perhaps just a cluster of yellow Power Loaders all tangled together so that one can not see where one begins and the other end. The non functionality of it all would interest me even more.

A Giger biomechanoid landscape with biomechanoids fused together
c) Previous thoughts
Previously when I had reveries connected with Bloomkamp making the film, he told his story about Alien being played on the video feed at his childhood family's holiday apartment and I started to imagine that the new Alien 5 must be connected with the videotape horror movies (See Ghosts In The VCR at dreaming about Alien meets Ringu = Aliengu) and also when the news that he would be making Alien 5 was announced, I drew a picture of an alien pretending to be the robot hero from the movie Chappie. (see Alien 5: "Big Chappie")

Further Alien thoughts,
set off by watching the Sinister II trailer
but not related to it

leading from

a) After watching the trailer for Sinister II, I began to think about my Alien plot that went via thoughts to do with Ringulien/Aliengu plot since the original Sinister movie had been loosely inspired by Ring.

b) A mysterious transmission and the government are tracking down the signals to see where it comes from, with the intention of retrieving something of interest for them. However it .

c) However it appears to be about cults setting themselves up and creating temples dedicated to a warped biomechanised version of the Henu Barque which is the Ancient Egyptian artifact that inspired the Space Jockey in its seat. (So already Giger has biomechanised the Henu Barque before and created something original out of it, and I'm only using it as an artifact of mystery because of what Giger had used it for.) Perhaps the new versions of the things might be made from wire and paper maché since I watched a video where someone made a brilliant dragon from paper maché. It might be a thought following the way that in Call of the Cthulhu there were all of these various cults being discovered with their alters with Cthulhu idols

d) People are travelling around the place trying to track down the Henu Barques as they suddenly manifest and with each one there's some sort of a strange gift to be found in a time capsule. Perhaps this one turns up in a human settlement filled with Rio De Janeiro styled Favelas, and a death cult serves itself up, and at the core of a cluster of favela buildings a derelict ship interior has begun to form as if it were fusing into the environment. Perhaps a well leads down from a house into a shaft into the pilot chamber and both look as if they were built by the same hand, they can't work out how the house interior has changed, and behind another wall is a space that opens up into a giant cavern where spores are kept, and it would not normally fit into the area. No one can work this out, but they assume that there must have been a cave system that no one knew about.

See: Alien Explorations:

e) What in essence is the nature of the alien?
Personally, after finding that Gustave Meyrink's Golem novel and its illustrations had inspired Giger with his biomechanoid, I started to think that perhaps alien this time comes in the form of a golem of a kind created by an ancient other dimensional being, and perhaps they can reproduce, and if the original golem can be destroyed, then the rest, all the following generations will to be destroyed. What are these golems made from? Clay, wood, stone? Might it just as well be made from paper maché and wire. It might be as terrible as that. What would be the next generation alien, who would care. Before I had the idea that maybe the aliens were created by extra-terrestrial alchemists as a medieval alchemist might have created a homoncule using magic, and the latter might have been a lot more interesting for me, the idea of something magic creating flesh.

f) Thoughts about the conception of the idea
I still haven't really found a reason for having aliens in a film, I don't have any inner chest bursters to consider, nor has anyone handed me a copy of something that is supposed to be a study of the actual Necronomicon for me to summon up any inner demons as Alejandro Jodorowsky handed to Dan O'Bannon back in Paris. I don't seem to much material to feed that way of thinking. O'Bannon and Shusett's teamup together created wonderful ideas. But it's terrible to think that poor Dan O'Bannon became a victim of the thing that inspired a crucial scene in Alien that got it noticed and many people do die from it, it has nothing to do with demons coming for their payback but one might romanticize about it in that way. I'm still looking for something idea behind the alien other than the need to stick an alien suit in a movie. Anything approaching a monster ruins the whole idea. Perhaps it's an hallucination of sorts within the architecture.

g) How would the victims become infected since facehuggers and black fluid are old hat?
I keep thinking thought about how the alien might have been something locked away in the Human DNA for millions of years waiting for humans to find something to trigger it off and activate it, as if the human race has been tampered with by an alien intelligence many millions of years ago, and so we are getting into Quatermass And The Pit Territory, but the changes are physical rather than creating strange superhuman powers.

The ancient buried space capsule from the movie version of
"Quatermass And The Pit" movie that acts as a catalyst
for humans with ancient DNA tampered with by martians

h) Space 1999 related thoughts
In the very odd "Force of Life" or "Force of Evil" episode of Space 1999, shown in 1975 where someone was invaded by a mysterious force and then began to drain energy of people and the moonbased complex, and when they shoot him with their lasers, he is burnt all over to a crisp and his eyes begin to glow, however perhaps due to the bad makeup it looks as if he has begun to mutate into some hideous dark creature looking sloughing off his human skin and transforming into something as ridiculous looking as Doctor Doom from the 2015 Fantastic Four movie. Then he enters one of the power reactors in the complex and the building explodes. I assumed as a child that he was tearing his skin off because he has transformed into something else that was black skinned. This episode gave me a great deal of confusion and perhaps led to nightmares. Probably the bigger shock would be that the man who was taken over by the mysterious force was played by Ian McShane better known for his role in Lovejoy decades later

i)  Oddity of the Company of Wolves transformations
Another thing that often grabs me is the transformation sequence from some werewolf films such as Company of Wolves, probably because it looks almost ridiculous, a man's face stretching open to allow a dog or wolf face to come through, and a man rips his face off to allow a clock work dog/ wolf face to begin to extend and this results in something like a skinned barbecued dog snarling away.

j) Recalling the American Werewolf in London transformation
American Werewolf In London had a very interesting transformation scene showing everything happening before the screen in full light with all the limbs deforming, but the actual fur covered creature that it turned into seemed to be of secondary interest

Hand deforming

Face stretching out

k) Thoughts about another alien creature
However in the last decade, perhaps in line with the Transformers robots idea or perhaps more the fact that there are Giger paintings where there are numerous unidentifiable life forms fused together, I thought about parts of a large creature coming out of various humans and then coming together to form one life form. Then I thought about perhaps something as large as a horse being invaded by all these creatures and having his limbs etcetera being eaten and replaced. There is a parasite that devours its host's tongue and then take over the role of a tongue. Perhaps there were various grinning entities poking their heads out of its carcasses, as if they were small living carved idols grinning away as bizarre as the head of a Pazuzu sculpture.

Fish Tongue Parasite

l) Obviously all the people involved with the Henu Barque must be involved in a ritual of self mutation into something unknown. They are quickly destroyed along with everything in the temple. Questions about where this thing was likely to turn up, would they find unexplainable anomalies and find that the Henu Barque was at the centre of it all. Where else will another Henu Barque turn up, just as at the end of Hellraiser, a Lament configuration turns up out of the blue.

m) When watching the Sinister II trailer, I perhaps was interested in the fact that there was this strange ancient demon interfering with the modern day lives of people and they were doing a serious examination of where this entity came from the history of mankind and then looked for places that the demon might take an interest in later in search for victims . But the story might indeed as the reviews show, not be very good.
