Exploring creatures and structures from the Alien film series in relation to Ancient Egyptian symbolism as a tomb mural

a) Sketch of an idea for a Egyptian tomb mural to explore the various alien creatures and structures in the context of their possible origins in Ancient Egyptian symbolism.

The million year old derelict ship becomes the god Ra's "boat of a million years". Perhaps also it is on the verge of transforming into an Eye of Horus. Upon it rides a space jockey with a slightly less than humanoid body.

( Also see Derelict experior inspired by "Barge of a million years"?  at the Alien Explorations blog)

The Alien becomes the Eye of Horus, and here are two placed opposite each each other as in Egyptian wall paintings. The alien in the egg becomes perhaps a scarab or a sun or both merged into one.

( Also see Vestigial remains of the Eye of Horus at the Alien Explorations Blog)

And on the far right, a human becomes a humanoid space jockey.

On the far left, a Sokar Funerary Procession, priests have been replaced by a group of Engineers from Prometheus, the Sokar Funerary Barque has become the Space Jockey in his seat but upon it has been placed the head of a bird in place of the Space Jockey's telescope, perhaps vaguely reminiscent of the head of the bird flown by the main character of Moebius' Arzach, although Giger had in an earlier sketch tried to work out a bird of prey's beak pointing down in the face of the Space Jockey as the telescope.

b) A dream about meeting Giger the other day coincided with me making "the boat of a million years" connection later in the day although I thought about the idea of it being loosely a bit like an Egyptian boat on its side earlier.

c) I think also there has been some interesting discussion though by the likes of author William Henry exploring the idea that the Boat of a Million Years represented some sort of intergalactic wormhole.

PROmethearZAC III

PROmetherZAC Stage 3. Rough visualisation of the space jockey
and chair merged with Moebius' character Arzach and his bird and
attempts to dream up a connection between the two since Ridley
Scott found inspiration from Moebius' comic books when he made
Alien and indeed Prometheus. The patterns on wings of the beast
have been loosely inspired by the patterns on the treet trunk of the
tree of life in Pakal Votan's tomb lid. This update made use of a
Wacom Cintiq.
